Cub Scout Pack 489
Achievement - Advancement - Adventure
Cub Scouting can be a very rewarding experience for a young boy, and all of the activities of the Den and the Pack are geared to provide
that for your child. Unlike in Boy Scouts, however, the parent partner in Cub Scouts is an integral part of of each and every
activity.
You will accompany your Cub Scout at every step, helping him to complete his achievements and electives, going
with him to Den and Pack meetings and sharing with him the adventure of Pack events. Your scout is counting on you, and
so is the Pack.
Pack 489 is an all volunteer organization. Every successful event, activity, and meeting is
the result of dilligent planning and hard work by concerned parents just like you. It only works for your child if
you are committed and involved. Opportunities for involvement range from coordinating a Den or Pack meeting or event to
serving in the Leadership Group of the Pack.
Our expectation is that every parent volunteer host at least one Pack Meeting/Event
or two Den Meetings during the year. Further, our one main fundraiser each year is the annual popcorn sale that takes place
in the Fall. For this we ask that each Cub Scout and parent partner raise at least $100 in popcorn sales. This provides
the primary operating funds for Pack for the year.
